Raising Awareness of Bleeding Disorders Amongst Women and Girls

[VIDEO] Raising Awareness of Bleeding Disorders Amongst Women and Girls

We at Let’s Talk Period are always looking for ways to get the message out about what heavy periods are and how they can impact people’s lives. We came across this wonderful series of short videos for women and girls who (may) have a bleeding disorder and knew we had to share them with our audience!

This first video ‘Raising Awareness of Heavy Menstrual Bleeding’ aims to raise awareness of heavy menstrual bleeding as a possible sign of bleeding disorders amongst women and girls. One in five women and girls have heavy periods, often without realizing they do. The message in the video is simple, but in a society where talking about menstruation is sometimes hard, these conversations may not happen.  Let’s talk about it and get women and girls the help they need! Subtitles are available in English, Spanish, French, German, Swedish and Japanese are available by clicking on ‘CC’ within the video controls.

The second video in this series ‘Bleeding Disorders and Periods: What to Expect’ is a short animation video developed by experts and in collaboration with patients to help girls with a bleeding disorder (in the family) understand what to expect from the start of menstruation and what can be done about heavy menstrual bleeding. Bringing up these issues with friends and family is not always easy, but getting help is important to the quality of life! Subtitles are in Spanish, French, German, Dutch, and Japanese.
